Archaeology of the 'Spanish Alarm' in NC
During the War of Jenkin's Ear (1739-1744) and War of Austrian Succession (1744-1748), Spanish corsarios and French privateers infested the coast of North Carolina. Recent research uncovered new information regarding this episode of maritime history.
